S0 that we can support
and protect wildlife and
birds for future generations,
we have a Biodiversity
action plan in place at
Northop Country Park.
The Biodiversity action
plan incorporates things
like recycling grass collections
and leaving certain
areas to grow wild to support
wildlife.
We have created wildlife
corridors which join onto
hedgerows and have put up
nesting boxes to attract
birds, mainly around the
ponds.
Wild flowers have been
planted around the new
holes, which will look
attractive as well as
improving the environment.
The new ponds will help
sustain animals and birds.
We look after the woodlands
by thinning out the
trees so that the stronger
trees have a better chance
of surviving. In the previous
year we have removed a lot
of dead wood from the
park. Apart from keeping
our customers safe, this
procedure gives the other
trees a better chance of
survival.
I musn't forget that the
new Buggy Path has been
developed using woodchip.
This is all part of an ongoing
process of development
at Northop Country Park.
I've seen the course evolve
from nothing into what it is
today. It's a living, growing
thing itself and I really feel
attached to it.
I enjoy having the responsibility
of looking after it and
the challenge of keeping it
at its best.
In my opinion, there isn't a
better golf course in Wales.
I'm also proud to work with
such a great team of dedicated
lads.
