The team at Northop County Park have taken on the HSBC Ty Gobaith Corporate Challenge and will be hosting a Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday, 19th May.

Organisers hope the event will raise thousands of pounds for the North Wales Children's hospice.

As Northop Country Park is the home of one of the region's best golf courses, we've decided to stage a Celebrity Golf Tournament at our 18-hole championship golf course said Eleanor Roberts, Sales and Events Co-ordinator We're delighted with the response from celebrities who are all putting their weight behind this worthwhile cause

Celebrities already signed up for the event are former Wales and Everton skipper, Kevin Ratcliffe, international singer Rhys Meirion, comedian Stan Boardman, snooker's Dennis Taylor and a range of S4C stars including singer and actor Bryn Fon, Hogia'r Wyddfa and actors John Ogwen and J. O. Roberts. Even well known faces with little golf experience are keen to lend their support. Joey Jones of Wrexham and North Wales AM Eleanor Burnham have agreed to join in the event by assisting with the arrangements on the day.

We have a number of teams from local businesses signed up for the event already but are looking for more participants to help stage a great golf tournament and boost our fundraising efforts said Eleanor Roberts

Entering the tournament costs £300 for a team of three players who will then play and spend the day with the celebrities.

Companies wishing to raise their profile can support the event by sponsoring a tee, which costs £250.
